The arts contest for Miss Environment and Mr. Environment 2010 run by the Giraffe Centre with a hard-hitting message, invites students from across Kenya to participate in the competition in art, essay writing and photography on the theme ‘Our Environment, Our Survival’.
The competition open to children from kindergarten to college level, will run between January and March 2010.
In the art work category, children can interpret the theme using any media, be it collage, pencil work, crayons, water or oil paintings or even papier-mache. The art work must be a minimum of an A3 size, mounted on paper. The category is open to those in pre-school to college level, with kindergarten pupils being allowed to submit group work of a maximum of five children.
The essay writing competition is open to children from lower primary to college, with different essays for each of the groups
