Amalgamated Bank of South Africa (Absa) in Kenya has announced its support for home schooling aimed at equipping children and youth with knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
Ramona Mwarey, Absa Bank Kenya’s Head of Products, says this is being done in partnership with Little Einsteins East Africa that Mwarey describes as an institution that focuses on Science exploration in children between 3 and 14 years.

“Little Einsteins delivers this through relatable experiences and stories of KABI the Science kid and SASHA the Stemette,” Mwarey says of the partnership that commenced on August 1, 2020 and gives ‘Absa Junior customers a free one-year membership with exclusive access to the exciting STEM learning activities’.
Absa has invited children to a week-long series of virtual events being held under Little Einstens Annual Science Fair running August 3 – 7, 2020.
Focusing on Children Innovating for Climate Responsiveness and Resilience and targeting 140 participants, the theme of of the festival is ‘Let the young ones explore with Little Einsteins courtesy of Absa’.

“We shall also be supporting the launch of Little Einsteins East Africa online learning platform, a web and app-based platform to further promote STEM learning at home for Little Explorers,” Absa Bank says in a statement, extending invitations to all Absa Junior customers to sign up and start their journey on online STEM education.
Parents and guardians are invited to register their children by sending a short text message (SMS) with the word ‘Little Einsteins’ to 22268. Those interested in opening an Absa Junior Account are also invited to send the word ‘Junior’ to 22268 .
Absa Group limited , that operates across 10 African countries, took over the operations of Barclays Africa Group Limited across the mother continent in July 2018.
