A Hiwot Admasu Getaneh film,NEW EYES, wins Best African Short Film award at 37th Durban International Film FestivalSouth Africa‘s Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) has announced award winners for its 37th annual edition.

Best Feature Film: THE VIOLIN PLAYER directed by Bauddhayan Mukherji.
Best South African Feature Film: TESS directed by Meg Rickards
Best Documentary: MARTHA AND NIKI directed by Tora Mkandawire Martens

Best South African Documentary: THE JOURNEYMEN directed by Sean Metelerkamp
Best Short Film: DZIE’N BABCI (Grandma’s Day) directed by Milosz Sakowski
Special Jury Mention for Best Short Film: AVE MARIA directed by Basil Khalil
Best African Short Film: NEW EYES directed by Hiwot Admasu Getaneh
