A channel that broadcasts videos made by children for children and everyone has been launched in Nairobi, Kenya.
On the channel, by Lola Kenya Children’s Screen audiovisual media platform, are short videos made by children and youth during skills-development programmes.
The storylines revolve around friendship, family, dreams and a host of other issues that African children grapple with.

While VANESSA’S DREAM is on a child’s goal to become a professional thespian and GOOD ALWAYS PREVAILS calls for friendship, HOPES AND DREAMS and KISWAHILI SAVES THE DAY inspire hope in a world of socio-political turbulence. All from a child’s perspective.
Other interestingly informative videos include FACEBOOK ERA, HOUSE OF TALENT, PASSION FOR THE ENVIRONMENT, THE UNENDING ADVENTURE, DARKNESS IN THE LIGHT and ‘TIS MY LIFE; DON’T PLAY WITH IT!.

Other videos inform the viewer about the vision, mission, programmes and activities undertaken by Lola Kenya Screen since its inception in 2005. Among the activities highlighted are weekly school outreach, fortnightly mobile cinema, monthly film forum, quarterly internship and annual movie and arts festival.
The channel, that shall soon carry more than 200 shorts made by children and youth, will also contain lots of stuff relevant to children, youth and family. This channel shall complement the media and arts activities that are usually covered in the Lola Kenya Screen blog on Blogger and lolakenyascreen.org website.
