Connecting Global Cultural Agents for Change

According to Selam, the civil society behind the Swedish Institute-funded initiative dubbed Connecting Global Cultural Agents for Change, the project is between October and December 2020 equipping 120 young people in Ethiopia, Gambia, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and Zambia with relevant skills.A new project aimed at strengthen the arts and culture sector has been launched across six African countries.

According to Selam, the civil society behind the Swedish Institute-funded initiative dubbed Connecting Global Cultural Agents for Change, the project is between October and December 2020 equipping 120 young people in Ethiopia, The Gambia, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and Zambia with relevant skills.

“The purpose of the project is to strengthen the culture sector and young agents in it, as well as stimulating a deepened discussion spanning everything from culture policy, copyrights, artistic freedom, digitalization and the culture sector’s need of an infrastructure,” says Teshome Wondimu, founder and CEO of Selam.

Selam says it has offices in Stockholm, Addis Ababa and Kampala.
